The shortlist for this year’s TV Quick and TV Choice Awards has been unveiled.

Ashes To Ashes will battle it out against Shameless, Skins and Spooks to the best drama series gong, while Britain’s Got Talent faces competition from Strictly Come Dancing, The X Factor and Dancing On Ice to be crowned best talent show.

The category of best reality show is also returning, with The Apprentice, Big Brother, The Secret Millionaire and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! each receiving nominations.

The best actress title is between Keeley Hawes (Ashes To Ashes), Billie Piper (Secret Diary Of A Call Girl), Denise Welch (Waterloo Road) and Kaya Scodelario (Skins), while Richard Armitage (Spooks), Philip Glenister (Ashes To Ashes), Neil Morrissey (Waterloo Road) and David Threlfall (Shameless) are all in the running for best actor.

Dramatic events from the past year in soap land will be determined in the best soap storyline category, with EastEnders’ ‘Danielle and Ronnie’s Story’ and ‘Whitney and Tony Story’ competing against Hollyoaks’ ‘Niall’s Revenge’ and Emmerdale’s ‘Shane’s Murder’.

In her day job she plays a glamorous upmarket call girl who flits from boyfriend to client.

But in reality dressed-down actress Billie Piper couldn’t be happier than when spending time with her family – as she showed in New York yesterday.

She helped Lewis actor husband Laurence Fox celebrate his first Father’s Day as a parent as the couple took baby Winston for a stroll.

Laurence admits finding it tough adjusting to the rigours of first-time fatherhood.

The 31-year-old explained in an interview that he initially found it hard to bond with his baby: ‘I definitely went through really odd feelings, really animal ones such as, “Do I even want this baby?” I was like that for about two weeks after he was born.’

But now the family couldn’t be happier, with Laurence describing eight-month-old Winston as a ‘joy’.

Actress Billie wore a floaty summer dress with a fashionable grey jacket slung over the top.

She smiled for the cameras as she pushed Winston along, talking to a friend on her mobile phone.

The 26-year-old recently returned to the Welsh set of Doctor Who to film David Tennant’s dramatic exit from the popular science fiction series.

And the busy mother was last month on the set of the latest series of drama Secret Diaries Of A Call Girl – in which she stars as call girl Belle du Jour.

News has been kind of slow lately so I haven’t really had much to update about. I’m hoping it will pick up and we’ll get more information on Secret Diary and Billie’s other projects. Because of this slow-down in news and updates, I have a few questions to ask of all of you wonderful visitors:

I may have to resort to a tagboard – which isn’t my favorite idea – but if enough people tell me they want a chat or chat-type feature added, I’ll work on it. :)

David Tennant’s Doctor Who swansong will feature three weddings, according to a report in The Sun. The newspaper claims that former companions Rose Tyler, Martha Jones and Sarah Jane Smith will all be getting married. Rose – played by Billie Piper – will reportedly marry the half-human clone of the Doctor in their parallel universe, while Martha (Freema Agyeman) is said to be tying the knot with Mickey Smith.

Billie Piper puckers up to a mystery man as Belle Du Jour – sparking speculation the telly tart is about to commit to one lucky fella for good.

Billie, 26, filmed romantic register office scenes for Secret Diary Of A Call Girl – suggesting her racy character is about to leave her career as a hooker behind.

She kissed the character played by actor James D’Arcy on the lips as she clutched a bouquet. Billie wore a chic blue frock for the scenes and tied her hair in a funky plaited style.

She is currently filming the third series of the ITV2 show, expected to air this autumn.

I apologize for the caps being somewhat out of order, sequence-wise. I tried multiple times to get them added correctly but Coppermine didn’t want to cooperate! I apologize for the lack of updates. I’m in the process of moving into my apartment, starting summer school, and working so I haven’t had a chance to log onto my computer and update.
