We’ve been waiting and now it’s happening – Billie is filming series 3 of Secret Diary of a Call Girl! The Daily Mail has all the scoop!:

After playing doting mother to baby son Winston for the last sixth months, Billie Piper is returning to a very different role – playing a high-class prostitute.

The 26-year-old actress left her son in the care of his father Laurence Fox as she started filming the third series of Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Dressed casually in a pair of black leggings, baggy blue shirt and a black cardigan, Billie’s head looked like it belonged to a different outfit with her dramatic eye make-up and a pink floral fascinator on her head.

Spotted filming an outside scene with co-star Ashley Madekwe (Bambi), Billie seemed to be enjoying her return to work after a long period away.

In the new series of Secret Diary, Billie reprises her role as prostitute Belle du Jour.

At the end of the last series – which was filmed when Billie was pregnant – Belle du Jour came out of retirement and returned to escorting after boyfriend Alex, played by Callum Blue, finds out her true profession.

Speaking earlier this year, Billie admitted she was preparing to go the gym to lose her post-baby figure to slim down for the more revealing scenes in Secret Diary.

She said: ‘The diet, the regime – it will start. It will be quite intense. It’s boring and hellish, I’m sure, but if you’ve got to bare your a**e on TV, you don’t want it to look bad.’

Billie recently admitted she had finally met the real-life former call girl behind the book and blog which inspired the ITV series.

Belle de Jour is the writer’s nom de plume and she has refused to reveal her identity.

She said: ‘She was great, she was very well turned out, very elegant, amazing rack … and she was really well educated.

‘She has a different profession now and she wants to keep her anonymity.’

Despite being back at work this week, Billie said she is cutting back her acting to spend as much time as possible with Winston.

She said: ‘I’m going to wait for the right thing to come along and until that happens, spend time with my son. I don’t want to rush into anything that isn’t right or doesn’t inspire me.

‘I have a new baby, so it’s all quite full-on at the moment. You spend a lot of time awake. But I think the worst of the bad sleeping is drawing to an end.’

Laurence and Billie married in 2007 after a whirlwind one year courtship.

The couple fell for each other while starring in the West End production of Treats.

Billie was previously married to TV/radio presenter Chris Evans.

I put up a new layout today! The previous one, as much as I adored it, was up for quite some time and I felt I needed change. I’m still unsure how I like this design so I don’t know how long it will last. There are probably some kinks and hiccups in the pages around the site but I’m hoping to have those fixed by tonight.

I’m in the middle of preparing for family to visit this weekend and everything that goes along with that so I haven’t had much time to devote to the site. I apologize for that. I received an email this morning from Jess and the FHM team telling me the voting for the 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2009 competition is over and Billie came in at #92! This beats her spot last year, #94. Of course, you’re definitely #1 in our hearts! Way to go Billie!

I’m sorry for the lack of updates around here lately. It seems things have been somewhat slow in Billie’s world. Hopefully things will pick up soon. Production on series 3 for Secret Diary is scheduled, according to reports, to start up some time soon. Once that happens, there will be plenty of updates and information about that.

Sometimes controversial bookmaker, Paddy Power, has started taking bets on who will play Jade Goody in the film rumoured to dramatize her life on the big screen. The restrictions of the bets are the film must be the first big screen biography of Goody and it must happen by January 2012.

Michelle Ryan at 2 – 1 is the clear favourite but others include Cameron Diaz, Billie Piper, Kate Winslet and even more comically, Shilpa Shetty at 100 – 1. Shilpa Shetty, a star of Bollywood films, had a bust up with Jade Goody in the Celebrity Big Brother house in which Goody was accused of being racist and received a backlash from the British public for the comments she made – Shetty later forgave Goody.

We’ve confirmed that this will be a 2-disc set with all 8 episodes, plus the webisodes that were shown online, and also a brand-new interview with show star Billie Piper. And, as you can see, Piper looks simply fabulous on the package art, shown below.

Updated specs provided to retailers inform us that this will run 180 minutes, with widescreen video, English 5.1 audio, and subtitles in English and Spanish. It will also be closed captioned for the hearing impaired. Cost is $29.98 SRP. Piper’s (Doctor Who) fellow cast members once again include Callum Blue (The Tudors, Dead Like Me), Iddo Goldberg (Defiance) and Cherie Lunghi (Excalibur), and they are joined this year by Ashley Madekwe (How to Lost Friends & Alienate People) as “Bambi”.
